Dr. Chris Teaño Lipat DC, Reiki Teacher practiced for 12 years in Honolulu, HI and relocated to Guåhan/Guam in 2023. Dr. Lipat discovered the value of chiropractic combined with nutrition and energy work during her own healing journey. After 12 years as a dedicated, full-time staff and volunteer board member for various social justice organizations in New York City, Chris experienced burnout and its consequences. Activist mentors introduced Chris to the restorative effects of reiki, yoga and acupuncture, and they were quickly hooked on the philosophies of nurturing the inner healer.

In 2004, Chris moved to the San Francisco bay area to begin their work in supporting individuals on their healing journey. Chris experienced chiropractic care for the first time at Life Chiropractic College West clinic, and assisted Dr. Lori-Ann Gertonson DC in her wellness clinic, Creating Harmony Institute, now known as the Gertonson Institute. At the Institute, Chris learned about chiropractic philosophy - the idea that “the power that made the body, heals the body” and the goal of chiropractic to assist people in expressing their full potential. Now, doesn't that sound better than "Do No Harm"?

Dr. Lipat graduated magna cum laude in 2010 from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California. They were twice selected as Intern of the Month and finished their clinic requirements early on. Dr. Lipat completed their undergraduate pre-med coursework with a B.A. in Biology from Oberlin College and worked with various BIPOC-led nonprofits while completing an M.A. in Nonprofit Management from New School University. A Filipin@ (Tagalog/Ilokan@) born in NJ, Dr. Lipat moved to Honolulu in response to a spiritual call to heal, to grow and for 12 years, Dr. Lipat served hundreds of patients with their unique viewpoint and approach to healing. This calling now brings Dr. Lipat to serve the communities of Guåhan and to expand their reach through virtual on-line services.

Dr. Lipat is author of the Amazon/Kobo ebook KNOWING: The Intuitive's Guide to Transformative Healing which outlines the KNOWING Method, a meta-self healing approach for sensitive intuitives.

As a White Light and Karuna Reiki® Teacher, Dr. Chris Lipat has taught numerous reiki classes and volunteered as a reiki practitioner at the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic for low income women with cancer in Oakland. Dr. Lipat is certified as a Magaanito/Pangatauhan (Diviner) from the Hilot Academy of Binabaylan, Philippines. Through their own healing journey, they have developed an integrative reiki, chiropractic and nutrition approach that appeals to those dealing with chronic stress and experiencing a myriad of complaints, who are motivated to make changes in their lives. In Guåhan it's about supporting patients in a new health paradigm which places the body’s self-healing powers at the forefront of lasting change.

Dr. Lipat's unique approach has been influenced by Dr. Gina Kim's Cellular Regeneration Technique, Brimhall’s Six Steps to Wellness, Morphogenic Field Technique, Nutrition Response Testing, Neuro-Emotional Technique, Cellular Regeneration Technique, Applied Kinesiology, Michael Lebowitz DC's Body Restoration approach, BioEnergetic Synchronization Technique, and Activator Methods. Dr. Lipat infuses Reiki throughout the sessions. Dr. Lipat is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (Functional Medicine University) and has completed all 300 hours towards a Diplomate from the American Clinical Board of Nutrition.

Dr. Lipat is licensed chiropractor in Hawaiʻi and Guam.

In Oʻahu, Dr. Lipat volunteered for various organizations over the years including AiKea of Unite Here! Local 5, Decolonial Pin@ys, FANHS-Hawaiʻi, and Hawaiʻi Peoples Fund. Dr. Lipat contributes a percentage of income from their small business towards projects that ensure a healthy, more equitable, sustainable Oceania.
